CAMO Cares

&

2019

AGAIN THIS YEAR!

BIG WOODS HARE HUNTERS of the ALLEGHENY & CAMO Cares

It is fitting, then, for the Big Woods Hare Hunters of the Allegheny to support our youth and our veterans in the pursuit of their hopes and dreams in the great outdoors. The officers and board of directors of the Big Woods Hare Hunters of the Allegheny financially support “Camo Cares”, a nonprofit, dedicated to sending young people with life-threatening illnesses and disabilities and wounded veterans on their hunt of a lifetime. The Big Woods Hare Hunters of the Allegheny supports Clarion County Sportsmen for Youth Inc., Fryburg Junior Marksmen, Trout Unlimited and Clarion County YMCA. We shall always support our youth for they are the beneficiaries who will inherit our legacy. The great orange army cares too.

The 10th Annual Camo Cares Event will be held on June 22, 2019 at the Fryburg Sportsman's Club Farm and the Big Woods Hare Hunters of the Allegheny will be there.

Again this year as in 2018 the Big Woods Hare Hunters will be a Silver Sponsor. We are proud to be associated with this grand event.

The event is a giant 3D archery shoot in the morning, huge raffles in the afternoon with guns, archery equipment and other outdoor gear, followed by great bands in the evening.

We hope any of our members who are archery shooters will come out and shoot.

Members who are not shooters are encouraged to join us for a picnic on the grounds before the raffle.

For those who do not know about CAMO Cares; CAMO Cares sends children with life-threatening illnesses and disabilities and wounded veterans on their hunt of a lifetime. In 2018 $130,000 was raised which was enough money to send 50 very special kids and wounded veterans on their dream hunts.

Last year 15-year-old Seth Apel from Knox, who had his arm reattached after a tragic farming accident in 2015 traveled to New Mexico on an elk hunt. We are happy to say that Seth harvested a huge 6x5 bull on the first morning of his hunt.

This year's event will be held in memory of Arianna Evans who sadly passed away last October. She was one of the first CAMO Cares hunters.

We hope you will join the Big Woods Hare Hunters as CAMO Cares celebrates all of their past hunters and wish the new hunters good luck on their hunts next fall.

TWO SPECIAL YOUNG SHOOTERS TO ATTEND JUNIOR OLYMPICS!

Whereas the Big Woods Hare Hunters of the Allegheny and for all others who believe our youth are the future and the beneficiaries of our hunting heritage, the Big Woods Hare Hunters will be taking on an additional project this giving season.

In addition to being a Silver Sponsor of the CAMO Cares Event for our second year, financially supporting Clarion County Sportsmen for Youth Inc., Fryburg Junior Marksmen, Trout Unlimited and Clarion County YMCA, we will be financially helping two very special young people.

Two marksmen from the Fryburg Junior Marksmen have qualified for the National Junior Olympics Shooting Championships in Colorado Springs.

Brady Fowkes, age 15, a precision shooter with the Fryburg Junior Marksmen, will be returning to the Colorado Springs Championship for his second time. Brady says, “My experience last year at the Junior Olympics was an extremely eye-opening experience and taught me a lot about myself and the sport. I am very much looking forward to going again this year. Your donation not only helps me, but helps my team advance to this level also.”

Nine-year-old Sidney Knight, in her first year as a shooter, has also qualified for the National shoot. Sidney says, “This has been one of my goals. I am super excited for this opportunity. This is a dream come true.”

These two extremely fine young people and skilled shooters are examples of what our country needs more of.

In order for these two fine young people to experience this opportunity the Big Woods Hare Hunters of the Allegheny is asking for your help in making two dreams possible. Money is needed for airfare, lodging, equipment, and registration fees for the event.

Please help by making your tax-deductible donations to Fryburg Junior Marksmen, 110 W, 6th Street, Oil City, PA 16301. Earmark your check for Brady and Sidney. Fryburg Junior Marksmen is a 501c3 organization.

IF you care at all and you want to help please share this post with your friends.

Thank you.
